DPGE's Tooling Repair Process
Driven, Live and Static tooling repairs require specialist knowledge and precision handling
Much of the wear within a tool is difficult to detect without full disassembly, chemical cleaning and correct reassembly. A tool without the correct gear backlash and bearing pre-load will cause your tool to prematurely fail and create further damage to the bearing, seal diameters and gears.
Our tooling repair service is used both nationally and internationally and every tool we receive follows a structured, traceable process:-
- All Tools are marked with a serial number for traceability and warranty purposes
- Tools are disassembled and chemically cleaned
- All parts are inspected for any defects
- Defective parts are either reworked where possible or replaced with new from the OEM if required
- All Bearings & Seals are replaced. Where possible we will enhance the quality of bearings and seals to improve the longevity and performance
- KLUBER GREASES and various Loctite Products are used, which are the Industrial standard for this type of Tooling
- Tools are re-assembled by a member of our dedicated team including checking run out of output spindle and tool alignment is within the industry standard for a New Tool
- Coolant nozzles are replaced if required with a nozzle which will enhance coolant delivery thus improving performance
Double lip seal upgrade
Many driven, live and static tooling are originally manufactured with a single lip seal. During repair, we upgrade to a double lip seal to prevent contaminants and grease from entering the tool - an upgrade applied as a result of our in-depth understanding of common failure points within driven and live tooling.
All replaced parts carry a 12-month warranty under standard usage conditions
